How do I share a preference with someone outside of my Circle of Support?When you share a preference with someone outside of your Circle of Support they can view (but not edit) that preference, but nothing else in your Volition. You can share your preferences with people that are outside of your Circle of Support in two ways. Navigate to the preference that you would like to share. Tap "Share this preference" Choose if you want to share it through a secure web link or a QR code. Secure web links are great for sending by email or message to someone that is far away from you. When you select that you want to send a secure web link you will need to choose how you want to send it, and enter the contact details of the person you want to send it to. QR codes are great for sharing with people that are next to you,. TIP: You can also print and display your QR code for people. When you select that you want to share a QR code the person that you are sharing it with will need to use their phone's camera to scan the code. On the free version of Volition the links and QR codes that you share will expire after 48 hours. If a person follows the link after that they will not be able to see your preference. You will need to send them a new link or QR code. On the premium version of Volition you can customise how long the links and QR codes that you share will last for.

How do I create a private prefence?When you create a new preference you can choose if you make it: general for all of your Supporters to see, or private, for only your Private Supporters to see. To make a preference private, after you have given it a name, a feeling, and a description, you can set the access level. If you want to change the access level of a preference you have already created, you can do this by editing the preference (see the FAQ about editing a preference).

How do I share a collection of preferences with someone outside of my Circle of Support?Just like you can share a preference with someone outside of your Circle of Support, you could also choose to share an entire preference category. This means that the person you share it with can view (but not edit) all of the preferences in that preference category, but nothing else in your Volition. You can share your preference categories with people that are outside of your Circle of Support in two ways. Go to your Library. Find the preference category you want to share and press "View all" on the right hand side. Tap "Share this category." Choose if you want to share it through a secure web link or a QR code. How do I delete a Preference Category?You can delete the Preference Categories that you have created yourself. You cannot delete the pre-set Volition Preference Categories, but you can hide them if they are not relevant for you. Hidden or deleted categories will not appear in your Library and you will not be able to add preferences to them. To delete or hide Preference Categories: Navigate to your Library Click "Manage Categories" Find the category that you would like to hide or delete If you want to hide the category - you can click "hide" and it will become greyed out. You can unhide this at any time by tapping the "unhide" button. If you want to delete the category - you can click "delete." The preference will then be deleted. Please note: You can only hide or delete categories that are empty. If the category has any preferences saved in it you will not be able to hide or delete it.

How do I create a preference category?Volition has many categories already built into Volition, but you can also create your own categories to organise your preferences in the way that makes sense to you. To create your own category: Navigate to the Preference Library Click "Manage Categories" You can add a category to one of the existing groups (like People or Places) by clicking the add tile in the group you want. Give your category a name and an image. You can also create your own groups for your categories by clicking the "Create a Category" button at the top.

How do I create a preference?There are a few different ways you can create a preference in Volition. Click the "Create Preference" button from the centre of the Home screen, or from of the Preference Library Add a title, a feeling, and a description for your preference. Set the access level and a review frequency. Add your preference to one or more categories. Add any photos or media to your preference

How do I add a note to a preference?You can add notes to preferences. This can be important to show how a preference has been honoured or experienced, or how it changes over time. Find the preference you want to add a note to in the Preference Library Click on it Click "Add note" Add your note - give it a title and the main text Click save

How do I edit a preference?We know that preferences can change over time - so it is important that you can edit them! Find the preference you want to edit in your Preference Library Click on it to open it Click the "Edit" button at the top right or at the bottom of the page Change the field you want to change, or add more information Save

How do I edit the access level of a Supporter?Navigate to your Circle of Support page. Tap on the picture of the Supporter that you want to edit Tap "Edit Access Level" Select the level of access that you would like them to have Tap "Save"

How do I add a Supporter to my Circle of Support?Navigate to your Circle of Support Click "Invite" button on the top right or in the centre of the screen You can choose to copy a secure link - you can then paste this link into an email, text message, whatsapp message, or anything else that you like, and send it to your Supporter Or you can generate a QR code to show your Supporter. This is helpful when you are in the same place as each other.

Which preferences can my Supporters see?As a Decision Maker, you can choose exactly what preferences your Supporters see. By default, a new Supporter will have "General Access." This means they can see the preferences in Volition that are general and not private. You can choose to give a Supporter "Private Access" if you want them to see all of your preferences in your Volition. Supporters with Private Access can see both your general preferences and your private preferences. You choose whether a preference is private or not when you create it.

Can Supporters save their own preferences in Volition?No - Volition is for saving the preferences of Decision Makers. If you are a Supporter and you want to use it to save your preferences too, then you can change your role in your personal details to be both a Decision Maker and a Supporter

I'm a Supporter. How do I finish a support session?Scroll to the top of the screen. In the top purple banner, tap the exit button on the right. You will then be returned back to your own Volition account.

I'm a Supporter. How do I view and add preferences for a Decision Maker I support?Navigate to your Circle of Support Click on the the image of the Decision Maker you want to view or add information for. Tap "Start a Support Session." You will see a purple banner along the top of the screen - this shows you that you are now in a Support Session and viewing the Volition information of the Decision Maker you selected. Navigate to their Library and add a preference (read the FAQ on how to add a preference if you need help with that!)

How do I upgrade to Premium?From your Home page, tap on the menu at the top right of the screen. Select "Manage Subscription" from the menu. Select the Premium option you would like - you can choose to pay for Premium monthly ($10/month) or yearly ($100/year). Tap "Confirm and Checkout" You will be redirected to our checkout portal where you will be asked to enter your Credit Card details. Please note that this portal is securely managed by Stripe, and Volition does not save any of your Credit Card details. Upon successful payment or cancellation you will be redirected back to the Volition app.
